Iron.
Bronze crest holder in the centre of the crown is a rectangular plate, rivetted at each corner and raised in the centre into two ridges, running from back to front..
The eyebrows are strongly curved with a deep medial step.
The occiput has three narrow, step-like ridges and the neck guard has pronounced embossed steps.
The cheek pieces have a deep cusp so as to clear the wearer's ears. The rear edge is angular instead of curved with an out-turned flange to protect the wearer's neck. The simulated jaw line is re-curved to accomodate the ear recess.
Traces of a 16mm wide bronze brow band remain, while bronze edge bindings of U-section had been applied to the neck guard, continuing up round the ear recesses and edge bindings had also been applied to the cheek pieces.
