The browband is similar to those on types D and E and the silver and enamel bosses cover the rivets for the cheek piece hinges. These last are partly covered by the decorative browband.
At the right side, a third boss remains adhering to the skull where the terminal of the reinforcing peak was riveted.
Instead of the usual tube attachment, the plume holder is a raised circular plate pierced with a central rectangular slot for a twist-on type of crest support. It appears to have been both riveted and soldered in position. This would appear to be a poorly executed repair.
