Remarks

Item details
Remarks:
  • A copper alloy helmet, missing the cheek guards.
  • The brow guard is of right-angled section, rather than being a solid bar.
  • The ear protection has been beaten out from the bowl of the helmet.
  • There are three deep and wide raised ribs on the occipital region of the helmet bowl and a single step on the neck guard.
  • On the top of the helmet is a plume holder with a front-to-back slot for the plume as well as a hole drilled through at right angles to this slot, presumably to secure the plume in place.
  • There are the remains of two small hooks at the front and rear of the helmet, used for securing the plume holder in position.
