Remarks:
  • Iron.
  • The brow band reinforcing fitment is different to the norm here. In place of the solid bar, here the helmet carries a strip of iron raised into a demi-oval section and tapering off at each end. This may have been an attempt to produce a stronger reinforcement while limiting the weight.
  • The skull is rather shallow, but the rear extended well below the ears and would give good protection here.
  • The ears are protected by riveted on iron castings.
