The brow band reinforcing fitment is different to the norm here. In place of the solid bar, here the helmet carries a strip of iron raised into a demi-oval section and tapering off at each end. This may have been an attempt to produce a stronger reinforcement while limiting the weight.
The skull is rather shallow, but the rear extended well below the ears and would give good protection here.
The ears are protected by riveted on iron castings.
