This helmet has obvious 'celtic' influences in its design. The helmet bowl is decidedly more conical than is usual, while the (surviving) cheek guard is more angular and less rectangular than in other examples.
The brim of the helmet is wide and in places resembles the 'Boetian' type of helmet, as it has areas which are folded down into depressions that (partially) protect the ears.
As originally displayed, there was a crest attachment for a plume.
The brim is reinforced with a riveted sheet iron protection over the forehead.
