Remarks

Item details
Remarks:
  1. Made of iron.
  2. The neck and cheek guards have been (apparently) deliberately removed (c.f. the Krefeld helmet).
  3. There are no ear recesses.
  4. There is a raised 'eyebrow' decoration (as per the Imperial Gallic helmet series) on the forehead. However, in addition to this and lying below the 'eyebrows', is a pair of 'eyes', raised from the bowl in the same fashion. This is somewhat similar to the 'eyes' that appear on the Intercisa style of late Roman helmets.
  5. Photo, (c) Sylvain Lamotte
