Remarks

Item details
Remarks:
  1. The helmet has the hair locks worked out directly from the iron skullcap over the entire surface.
  2. There is a 'reeded' strip of copper alloy above the brow on the helmet front.
  3. The surviving cheek guard (left side) has an ear moulded at the rear top corner, but the remainder of the guard is devoid of further decorative features.
  4. The neck guard does appear to have some raised detail but it is too badly corroded to make out what this is.
  5. Photos (c) Karwansaray BV and Luc de Vos.
