Remarks

Item details
Remarks:
  1. Almost pure copper, the composition being 97.0% of copper, 2.06% of tin, 0,59% of zinc and traces of other elements such as lead, iron, arsenic and antimony.
  2. There was evidence of leather padding on the rear of the copper layer.
  3. Above the forhead there is a diadem, decorated with repoussée-worked whirls. The thick band at the bottom of this extends down each side of the face, forming an impresson of plaited hair.
  4. At each side of the neck there is a rivet. This probably formed the point fo attachment for the strap that closed the helmet face mask against the back of the helmet.
