Item details
Remarks:
  1. Bronze. Supposedly found in the 18th century in a grave, as a death mask.
  2. Female face with richly waved hair.
  3. The decoration has the form of a Corinthian helmet with a Medusa head, flanked by sea creatures.
  4. Above in the middle of the head is a rectangular hole, while below the ears are rivets that served to attach the straps that held the helmet in place.
  5. The positions of the irises of the eyes is indicated with metal rings, soldered to the mask.
