Inscription, punched, beneath the neck guard reads: "IRVI [(or I(uli)]:IRVI/IVNI SENCVDI". There may be the faint remains of an earlier inscription that was over-written.
Hemispherical, low helmet bowl with thickened forehead edge and horizontal, gently sloping neck guard.
The helmet plume holder is soldered into position on the crown of the helmet.
The brow protector is of a right-angled section, which means that this helmet is asigned to the 'D' category, rather than the 'E' (which later is what Robinson shows it as.)
