Remarks:
  • Inscription, punched, beneath the neck guard reads: "IRVI [(or I(uli)]:IRVI/IVNI SENCVDI". There may be the faint remains of an earlier inscription that was over-written.
  • Hemispherical, low helmet bowl with thickened forehead edge and horizontal, gently sloping neck guard.
  • The helmet plume holder is soldered into position on the crown of the helmet.
  • The brow protector is of a right-angled section, which means that this helmet is asigned to the 'D' category, rather than the 'E' (which later is what Robinson shows it as.)
