The skull is made from six triangular sections of iron plate, riveted to six polygonal iron plate sections. These are bound together at the base by an iron circlet, also riveted.
A nasal guard is riveted above the brow, connected to two curved sections which form 'eyebrows' at the front.
The neck guard and cheek guards are attached to the helmet by means of crude iron hinges. These are of roughly square shape and are attached by means of two rivets, top and bottom. The rivets are also of iron.
At the apex of the helmet is riveted a circular plate, within which is set an iron ring. The ring's diameter is 32mm and it is of oval cross-section.
The neck-guard is a rectangular plate, (W, 148-140mm; H, 115mm). The upper edge of this is slightly curved upwards and is fixed about 10mm above the bottom rear edge of the brow band.
