Remarks

Item details
Remarks:
  • Iron
  • The helmet is much damaged, but retains all the salient features in terms of the reinforcing ridges at the occiput and on the neck guard, the brow protector, the 'eyebrows' and the cheek protectors.
  • In the centre of the forehead, there is a small red enamelled rivet. This probably retained the attachment ring for the front of the crest box. There is a similar enamelled rivet at the centre rear of the helmet.
