Iron skull, with applied copper alloy decorations.

The embossed hair on the crown is in the form of curls, arranged in concentric circles. Surrounding the crown, with trailing ends, is a ribbon.

The neck guard also has embossed designs.

At the rear of the helmet there are two copper alloy cone-shaped projections. These would originally have held horse-hair 'tails' as decorations.
