Item details
Remarks:
  1. Bronze.
  2. Youthful beardless male face. Eye openings, nose holes and lips have been perforated through the metal of the mask.
  3. The hair is combed in rows of tight curls, five over the forehead and two down each cheek in front of the ears. The hair is knotted at the back of the neck.
  4. The rear part of the helmet is also decorated with repoussée work. Two figures of griffins or possibly sphinxes face one another at the front. Other features include stylised leaf forms. Also on the rear section is a small lion's head mask. This may one have held a decorative horse-hair streamer.
