Name: Cavalry Sports CSC 38 (Tata)

Findspot: Foktorok, Hungary, (HUN). Found in 1971 in the proximity of a gate in the Roman fortress.
Date: second half, 2nd century AD.
Now kept: Tata, Domokos Kuny Muzeum.

Item details
Remarks:
  1. Bronze.
  2. Youthful beardless male face with half closed eyes and finely shaded brows. Eye openings, nose holes and mouth columns been perforated through the metal of the mask.
  3. The hair is arranged in two dense, curled rows from the centre of the forehead.
  4. Under the ears of the mask are the remains of the fitments used to secure the helmet on the head.
