The front guard is crescent-shaped, rather than pointed.
The embossing on the skull has a central device of four cupids supporting swags surrounding an engraved Medusa head with captive barbarians at each side of the front and a sacrificial scene at the rear.
Pounced tendril lines and scrolls are used as borders.
