Remarks

Item details
Remarks:
  1. The helmet is made from a copper alloy.
  2. The right proper cheekguard is original, the left side one is a modern reconstruction. The right guard displays a winged cupid figure, seemingly dispensing grain from a basket.
  3. The rear part of the helmet is decorated with repoussée work, depicting concentric circles of hair curls, bound with a circlet.
  4. The diadem above the helmet brow is also similarly decorated. In the centre is a group of three heads, facing to the left, right and straight ahead. On either side of this group are small figures, standing on plinths. Outside of these are small rope-bordered medallions, each containing a head.
