Remarks

Item details
Remarks:
  1. Bronze.
  2. The reinforcing peak is flat and crescent-shaped, riveted at each side and secured by a central tongue turned over through a slot in the centre of the brow.
  3. The back rim is flanged slightly outwards and shallow recesses for the ears have been cut at the sides.
  4. All round the rim, including the ear recesses, a series of holes have been punched (probably at a later date). This helmet does not retain the neck and ear guards, which were probably removed when they were cut away.
