Remarks:
  1. Made of bronze.
  2. Of globular form in the lower half, rising to a hollow conical apex, surmnounted by a conical button on a double-stepped base.
  3. Just behind where the wearer's ears would have been, is a right-angled step down of some 20mm, to which a separate neck guard would have been riveted.
  4. A straight, applied brow-band decorated with small embossed figures of Victory, Jupiter and Mars, some 4mm deep, is applied by solder to the skull, as is the neck band. Both area edged with narrow pearled strips, soldered into position.
  5. Cheek piece hinge-plates are riveted inside and the rivets are obscured on the outside by the brow plate.
