Remarks

Item details
Remarks:
  1. An iron helmet, quite crudely made. The ear protection is forced out from the body of the helmet bowl, but not to any great degree.
  2. The neck guard is almost non-existant, being merely turned up slightly at the base.
  3. All around the rim of the helmet is a series of holes. These were evidently for the attachment of a lining of some description.
  4. There are no rivet holes evident for the attachment of cheek guard hinge plates, nor are there any of what may be described as 'decorative features'.
  5. Photos, (c) Robert Hopkins.
