The plume holder on the crown is filled with lead.
Around the base of the helmet is an engraved 'cable' pattern.
Going around the helmet, above the cable pattern, are six parallel lines.
Fixed to the rear of the inside is a strip of metal, carrying two rings. These were used for the securing cords/laces of the helmet. Similar rings were fixed to the inside of the cheek guards, through which the tying cords/laces were led before being tied on the chin.
