Remarks

Item details
Remarks:
  • Copper alloy helmet, of hemispherical form, with a conical plume holder. The bottom of the helmet bowl at the front has been 'knocked back' to thicken the rim here.
  • The brow guard is a solid casting, secured at the sides with a single rivet.
  • Although the cheek guards are missing, the hinges remain. Each hinge has two cone-headed rivets (both remain on the right hand side, but there is only one on the left side.)
  • The neck guard is almost horizontal, and curves in gently at the side to meet the helmet bowl.
