Remarks:
  • On the underside of the neck guard is the following graffiti: "QV(intus) SALONIVS T(urma?) RONI", then POPNIS (l), CASTIC/TI(?) (c) and IVSTI (r).
  • This helmet is made entirely of bronze.
  • The decorative bronze strips are soldered around the ear openings and on the occiput. Beaded strips are also applied so as to quarter the crown.
  • The crown has a central hole for the missing plume holder.
  • The neck guard not only slopes downwards, but it also curves inwards. A bronze carrying handle is fixed in position by two pins that are bent on the underside.
  • The brow reinforcement is fixed in position by three pear-shaped rivets.
