Four iron plates rivetted to four triangular sections (of iron), in turn rivetted to a brow band (also of iron) at their lower edge. The four polygonal plates are between 73-78mm at the widest and 40-43mm at the narrowest and are 172-176mm long of a thickness between 0.5 and 1mm. The four triangular sections vary between 90-95mm at the base, length 166mm and of thickness 0.5 to 1mm. The brow band is 40mm deep and of a similar thickness. The skull plates overlap by about 10mm each side.
The cheek pieces are narrow and punched with holes at the edges for attachment of leather or linen linings. The cheek pieces are hinged to the bowl and a disc surmounts the apex of the helmet.
When found, there was a leather cap, still in excellent condition, inside the helmet. It was made of a single piece of leather, about 6mm thick.
