Found approximately 1.5 km from Pfrondorf in l868 at the estuary of the Schwartzenbachs, to the north of Nagold when clearing an old quarry at a depth of approximately 2 m. In the older literature this was erroneously described as being at the base of the mountain above Wildberg.

The mask comes in three sections: the face, the visor and the helmet skull. The 'hair' on the skull is arranged in concentrated curls. There is a wreath over the base.
The visor is in the form of a Medusa head; on the forehead is an eagle with spread wings. Wings and snakes wind through the hair at the sides.
The face and visor are locked together by means of a clip at the top of the nose.
The eyes, notril holes and lips have been broken through.
