When originally found, this helmet was broken into many separate pieces.
The silvered bronze sheet covers most of the iron surface of this helmet. On the crown there is a representation of an eagle's wing on either side while at the occiputal area there is a complete eagle. These figures are black against the silver background. The black areas may be either niello work or a consequence of the preservation techniques employed on iron artefacts.
The cheek guards carry a representation of the round shield (parma).
Circling the crown of the helmet and in a wide strip across the middle there are laurel leaves, with berries at intervals.
The ears are covered but each cheek guard has an embossed 'ear', silvered over.
Weight: 1.460 Kg.
