Remarks

Item details
Remarks:
  • Iron.
  • There is an embossed ridge above the brow that suggests the beginnings of the 'eyebrow' decoration of the Imperial Gallic style of helmet.
  • Like their Agen contemporaries, the helmet bowl is deep and steep-sided. Unlike the Agen type, the rear of the helmet bowl is separated from the front by a considerable step. The brim does not extend unbroken all the way around the helmet.
  • At the rear of the helmet bowl there are two embossed ridges.
  • The cheek pieces are secured through two iron rivets to each hinge.
  • (c) Karawansaray BV
